Official Rusk County Jail Roster
The official Rusk County jail roster is the public Synergistic Software portal at interopweb.com/rusksotx. It is separate from the main county website, but the research identifies it as the Rusk County public jail roster path. It has tabs for Current Inmates, 24 Hours Arrests, and Inmates by Arrest Date. No login or payment was documented for the roster itself.
Use the roster for people in Rusk County Jail custody, including local arrests by the sheriff's office, Henderson Police Department, Overton Police Department, Tatum Police Department, constables, DPS troopers, warrant officers, and other agencies whose arrestees are booked into the county jail. The roster is not the lookup tool for Bradshaw State Jail, East Texas Treatment Facility, or Billy Moore Correctional Center because those are Texas Department of Criminal Justice facilities.
The Rusk County Sheriff's Office page lists the jail phone as 903-655-3000 and the sheriff's office phone as 903-657-3581. Call the jail for real-time custody checks when a roster result is missing, a release may have happened, a person may be in court, or a transfer may be under way.
The roster source inspected during research showed booking photos, custody status, name, sex, height, weight, arrest date or agency information, charge/count fields, and bond amounts or bond-status text. It also showed pagination for current inmates. Live roster counts can differ from monthly Texas Commission on Jail Standards reports because the roster changes as people are booked, released, transported, or transferred.
In-person jail questions should still begin with a phone call. Official research did not locate visitor lobby hours or a public records counter schedule for the jail, so callers should confirm the correct building, current access rules, and whether the question can be handled before travel.
The manifest image below comes from the official Rusk County current-inmate roster and shows the roster layout used for public name searches.
That roster view is the starting point for current Rusk County inmate records before a user moves to court, TDCJ, federal, or immigration lookup systems.
Use the Rusk County Roster
A Rusk County inmate search works best when the user checks the correct roster tab first. Current Inmates is the main tab for a person who may still be housed at the county jail. The 24 Hours Arrests tab is useful soon after a booking. Inmates by Arrest Date is the better route when the booking date is known but the name search is uncertain.
- Open the Rusk County jail roster and start with Current Inmates for active custody.
- Enter a last name, first name, or both. The name filter is labeled optional, so a broad search may return a paged list.
- Use 24 Hours Arrests for very recent bookings that may be easier to find by time frame.
- Use Inmates by Arrest Date when the arrest or booking date is the strongest fact.
- Compare the result by name, booking photo, sex, height, weight, arresting agency, date, charge/count field, custody status, and bond text.
- Call 903-655-3000 if the person should be in custody but no current Rusk County inmate record appears.
Do not rely on a common name alone. A Rusk County jail record can include arrests made by municipal police or an outside agency after the person is transferred to county custody. A bond amount or custody status shown online should still be confirmed with the jail, court, clerk, or bond professional before anyone pays money or travels to the facility.
Rusk County Roster Fields
The Rusk County roster search is a name-based lookup. Research did not document a booking-number field or facility dropdown for the county roster. The visible form label was "Filter By Inmate Name (Optional)," and the two text inputs used last-name and first-name placeholder text.
| Field Label | Type | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Last Name | Text | Optional | Placeholder text says "last name"; autocomplete was off in inspected source. |
| First Name | Text | Optional | Placeholder text says "first name"; use with last name to narrow common names. |
| Current Inmates | Tab/link | Optional navigation | Shows people currently booked in the Rusk County Jail. |
| 24 Hours Arrests | Tab/link | Optional navigation | Shows recent Rusk County bookings from the 24-hour arrest tab. |
| Inmates by Arrest Date | Tab/link | Optional navigation | Supports arrest-date browsing; date-control details were not extracted. |
| Search Inmates | Submit button | N/A | Runs the first-name and last-name filter. |
| Pagination controls | Pager links | N/A | The inspected current roster showed page-number links, Prev/Next controls, and 119 items on June 30, 2026. |
Rusk County Inmate Record Details
A Rusk County inmate record is a jail record, not a final criminal judgment. It can show what the jail received at booking and what is visible on the public roster, but it may not show every court date, housing detail, release event, or later prosecutor action. Race appeared as redacted in inspected roster rows, and no date of birth was visible in the extracted public row data.
| Field | What It Shows |
|---|---|
| Booking photo | A public front-face booking image appears for many current roster entries. |
| Name | Uppercase last-name-first format. |
| Custody status | Current status such as CURRENTLY BOOKED. |
| Sex | M or F single-letter value. |
| Height and weight | Physical descriptors, with height shown in a compact numeric format and weight in pounds. |
| Race | Field exists, but inspected rows showed REDACTED. |
| Arrest date / agency | Combined date and arresting agency string, such as Henderson Police Department or Rusk County SO Henderson. |
| Charge/count field | Numeric field visible in row data; fuller statutory detail may require court records. |
| Bond | Amount or status, including values such as DENIED and NOT SET. |
| Housing and court date | Not clearly visible in extracted public row data. |
For booking photos connected to the roster fields, use the separate Rusk County jail mugshots page. For prosecutor-filed charges and case progress after booking, use court records after a jail arrest.
Rusk County Booking Records
When the public roster is not enough, the sheriff's records channel is the next county-level access point. The county sheriff page links a Sheriff's Office records request PDF. Research could not extract the PDF field labels, submission methods, fee terms, identification requirements, or turnaround time from the file, so a requester should follow the current instructions printed on that form.
A practical request should identify the person, date of arrest, arresting agency, record type, and whether the request is for a booking record, offense report, booking photo, or another law-enforcement record. Texas Government Code Chapter 552, the Texas Public Information Act, is the general public-records framework, but exceptions may apply to active investigations, juvenile information, expunctions, protected criminal-history data, and privacy-protected material.
Note: The sheriff records PDF was located, but readable form fields and submission instructions were not available in the research file.
Rusk County Booking Process
A local arrest usually moves from the arresting agency to Rusk County Jail intake. The booking process creates the jail record, photographs and fingerprints the person, starts screening and classification, and places the person in county custody. The roster may then publish a public row if the person remains listed in the system.
Booking charges are not the same as final court charges. After jail intake, a magistrate or court addresses early issues such as probable cause and bond. The County/District Attorney later reviews reports and decides whether to file, amend, reduce, enhance, indict, dismiss, or decline charges. For that reason, a Rusk County inmate record should be read as a custody snapshot, not proof of guilt or a final court outcome.
- Booking
- The jail intake record created after arrest.
- PR bond
- A personal bond or promise to appear, sometimes with supervision, rather than full cash payment.
- Detainer
- A hold request from another agency that may block release even when local bond appears available.
- Paper-ready
- A state-sentenced person ready for transfer from county jail to TDCJ custody.
County State Federal Custody
Rusk County has one sheriff-operated county jail and three TDCJ-linked state facilities. A person in Rusk County Jail may be awaiting first appearance, trial, bond, release, transfer, or a short county sentence. A person at Bradshaw State Jail, East Texas Treatment Facility, or Billy Moore Correctional Center is searched through TDCJ, even though those facilities are in Rusk County.
| Custody path | Where to look | Use it for |
|---|---|---|
| Rusk County Jail | Rusk County jail roster, jail phone, and confirmed in-person routing | Current county inmates, 24-hour arrests, arrest-date browsing, and questions that need live staff confirmation. |
| Sentenced state custody | TDCJ inmate search | People assigned to TDCJ facilities, including the three state facilities in Rusk County. |
| Victim notification | Texas VINELink | Custody and release alerts where available. |
| Federal custody | BOP inmate locator | Current federal inmates and many released federal inmates since 1982. |
| Immigration detention | ICE ODLS | Immigration detainees searched by A-number and country of birth or biographical data. |
No official Rusk County Sheriff's Office mobile inmate-search app was located in the research. Use the public roster, jail phone, sheriff records request, TDCJ locator, VINELink, BOP locator, and ICE locator as applicable.
Rusk County Jail Facilities
Only Rusk County Jail is the county roster facility. The other three listed facilities are state custody locations operated through TDCJ or under TDCJ contract. Do not add their populations to the county jail roster count when describing local pretrial custody.

Rusk County Visitation Gaps
Rusk County Jail-specific visitation, mail, commissary, money-deposit, video-visit, and phone-provider pages were not located on the official county site during research. The county does publish the jail phone. That phone line is the safe route before travel, mail, money, or phone-account setup.
| Topic | Published Detail Located | Practical Instruction |
|---|---|---|
| In-person visitation | Not located in official sources | Call 903-655-3000 before travel. |
| Video visitation | Not located in official sources | Do not assume remote video exists; confirm with the jail. |
| Visitor ID | Not located in official sources | Bring government-issued photo ID and confirm current rules. |
| Mail format | Not located in official sources | Confirm inmate name, booking identifier, and mailing address with the jail. |
| Money deposits | Not located in official sources | Confirm vendor, kiosk, online option, fees, and accepted payment methods. |
| Phone calls | Not located in official sources | Confirm provider and account setup before funding any service. |
For Bradshaw State Jail, East Texas Treatment Facility, and Billy Moore Correctional Center, use TDCJ visitation, TDCJ mail, and TDCJ trust fund rules. Those state systems do not follow the county jail roster process.
